"Then where did you go, huh?" Kiara's voice pierced through the room, her words sharp like daggers aimed at my heart. I fought to maintain a smile, a facade to hide the turmoil within me, a battle I was losing with each passing moment.
"Wherever destiny will take me," I responded, my voice barely above a whisper, my attempt at composure crumbling under the weight of my emotions.
"Tu sach mein kuch nahi karegi, uski shaadi hai aaj... Shivansh kisi aur ka ho jayega agar tune aaj use sach nahi bataya toh," Kiara's words cut through me, stirring a tempest of conflicting feelings inside. Shivansh, the one I loved so deeply, the one who held my heart in his hands, was about to embark on a new journey without me by his side. The thought of revealing my truth, risking the bond between him and his family, tore at my soul, a sacrifice I wasn't sure I could make.
I whispered, "And batane se kya badal jayega, Kiara... shaadi koi mazak nahi hai, and he is marrying the girl he l-loves," my voice trembling, tears threatening to spill over. Love, a word that held both joy and pain in its embrace, a feeling that bound me to Shivansh in ways I couldn't explain. He was my guardian angel, the light in my darkest moments, the reason I still believed in love despite the impending ache in my heart.
Kiara's grip on my hand was firm as she led me to the mirror, forcing me to confront my reflection. In that moment, as I gazed at the reflection of a woman torn between love and sacrifice, the depth of my emotions mirrored in my eyes, I knew that the path ahead held both heartache and healing, a journey I had to face with courage and grace.
I gaze into the mirror. "See, she is the only girl he truly loves. Why can't you see it? Nothing has changed even today. If you reveal the truth to him, he won't choose Shanvi for marriage. Shanvi isn't the one he loves... And do you believe that when he discovers the truth, he won't forgive you... never, never, Vanshika." Kiara attempted to make me realize that I was wrong, and I acknowledge my mistake, but I feel so helpless. I can't allow myself to love him. I must turn that love into hatred. I know it won't be simple, which is why I wished to flee this country so he couldn't track me down.
"No matter how many good deeds you've done in your life, people forget them in just a moment if you make even one mistake." Kiara's words pierced my heart, and tears flowed uncontrollably down my face.
"I feel so helpless, Kia... I don't want to lose him, but I can't have him either. I can't bring myself to hate him, yet I can't keep loving him either. I know I'm not the perfect match for him," I uttered amidst tears streaming down my cheeks. Kiara enveloped me in a tight embrace, trying to soothe my cries, but the tears seemed beyond my control.
"I've tried so hard, but I couldn't make him mine. If a lie brings him happiness, then I'll willingly live a life of deceit," I confessed through sobs.
"But what if he discovers that Shanvi isn't the one he loves?" Kiara questioned.
"If I can't be the one he loves, then I must accept being part of his hatred," I declared, wiping away my tears.
